What is a round log and in what advantages does it have for builders?
Before becoming a building basis, the tree is processed in some stages. One of them is polishing and cutting logs.
Grinding, alignment of a profile of a log is made on special equipment: center-type and broaching machines.
Firstly the log is rounded, than it is moved to the machine for cutting notches, after that the log is processed with special solution. As a result we receive a material which has a great resistance to atmospheric phenomena. It is especially important as wood will be transported.
Moreover, this special solution does not interfere with the sap flow in the wood. Only in this case, natural drying of logs in a future construction is possible. Besides, the tree will be insured from any mycosis.
It should be noted that subsequently the dried wood is protected from rotting and bugs by other solutions which are applied on a building facade. Round-log Houses are constructed in a short space of time (4-8 month). This is only possible if the material is prepared professionally, neatly and properly labeled.
As a result, aligned logs of the same diameter form a strong and stable construction. Thus it is possible to minimize gaps at the joints between its elements, which are adjusted very close to each other.
Ring corner joints play an important role in airtight buildings constructing.
Thanks to the use of such traditional technologies, the walls are built with high insulating ability. In addition, we obtain a flat surface which can be done without additional processing.
